Brian Dykstra is an actor, playwright and HBO Def Poet. Previous productions: A Play on Words and Clean Alternatives (both directed by Margarett Perry). Clean Alternatives went on to win a Fringe First in Edinburgh and the New Hampshire Theatre Award. Hiding Behind Comets premiered at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park and was awarded the National Theatre Conference Playwright Award. At Kitchen Theatre Company: The Two of You, The Jesus Factor, Strangerhorse, A Play on Words, HO! and Selling Out. Also: Forsaking All Others (London, NYC and LA); Silence (commissioned and produced by College of the Holy Cross and produced in NYC); Spill the Wine (GayFest NYC), and his collection of short plays That Damn Dykstra. Dykstra has written and performed several solo shows that landed him on watch-lists of the National Rifle Association and Rush Limbaugh. He is currently working on a musical adaption of The Learned Ladies with composer Ray Leslee and Crazy Make Crazy with Terry Delsing, as well as his hip-hop play, Used to Was (Maybe Did), developed with Center Theatre Group.
