Remember when we told you that Marx Brothers Place is going to the dogs? We weren’t kidding.
But just to reiterate:
The supporters of the effort to create Marx Brothers Place — a stretch of East 93rd Street where the building in which the famed comedians grew up still proudly stands — are getting increasingly creative in their efforts, despite the local chicanery in the neighborhood.
Led by 93rd Street Beautification Association co-chair (and Preservation Diaries columnist) Susan Kathryn Hefti, a new film, The Dignified Denizens of Marx Brothers Place – starring a Boston terrier named Jackie and a Russian wolfhound named Victor – was screened back on Sept. 16.
Also known as The Doggy Movie, The Dignified Denizens of Marx Brothers Place refers to the pooches who’ve lived on that street for more generations than people can count!
