|ELECT-ALUJAH! The Campaign Has a HOME!
Hello, Reverend Billy Talen here, Green Party candidate for Mayor of New York City, and defender of the fabulous 500 neighborhoods. Today I am happy to announce that our mayoral campaign for New York City, this fledgling bundle of hope and expectation, has found a nest!
We are opening, as of Apirl 18th, a campaign office at 250 Lafayette St., in that downtown Manhattan neighborhood known as SoHo. Its a lovely, bright, welcoming little spot, and we hope to see you there sometime soon. I assure you it will not be your typical campaign office.
Can you help us outfit or support our new headquarters? We need desks, desk chairs, folding chairs, computers, printers, fax machines, and office supplies of all kinds. If you have anything at all to donate please email us, and we will coordinate a pick-up.
Better yet, bring it to our office-warming party on Saturday! That’s right, the official office warming party is this Saturday, April 18th, from 6:00pm to midnight. If you don’t have any spare office furniture to share, we can always use help with our rent, so bring a checkbook or donate now online!
It’s been a whirlwind campaign thus far, and we have learned so much meeting shopkeepers, supporting some truly vital struggles, and meeting community organizers. Check out some highlights here.
And we aren’t slowing down! This coming week we’ll be at NYU on Tuesday, speaking with students from Take Back NYU!; heading down to Wall Street on Tax Day to take back AIG for the people, heading out to Coney Island to open the freak show on Friday, and appearing at the Brooklyn Bailout party on that same night. Check out the events calendar or drop a line to our volunteer coordinators to get plugged in.
