Elaine Romero is a prolific playwright whose work has garnered numerous awards. In addition to her position as an Assistant Professor at The University of Arizona’s School of Theatre, Film and Television, Romero is working on a trilogy of plays dealing with the USA at war. The first, Graveyard of Empires, was described as “poetic and surprisingly gentle” in its recent production at 16th Street Theater. The second, A Work of Art, which addresses the effect of war on the families at home, will open at Chicago Dramatists in association with the Goodman Theatre on June 19, 2015.
